I’m a former U.S. Navy helicopter pilot who has spent 15+ years scaling strategy and operations across Big Tech, Fortune 500s and high-growth startups. I write about AI adoption and governance for professionals implementing AI by covering the foundational work that makes tools worth the investment.

AI Flight Plan began with, The 20-Point AI Adoption Framework©. It’s a practical playbook for the work that happens before AI tools: governance, data, systems and strategy. It’s the foundational work that determines whether your AI investment pays off or becomes a black hole of subscription fees and unused licenses.

The first 20 posts were written as quick reads with practical steps: define the problem you’re trying to solve, what would have to be true, establish governance, clean your data and set up systems. THEN add AI tools. That sequence matters for ROI.

I used popular movies for a frame of reference. AI can feel overwhelming and ambiguous as you are starting out. Movies give people something familiar to anchor to, a way into the topic that doesn’t require starting from scratch. Familiar patterns accelerate learning and help establish a strong foundation.
